One of the true pioneers of the monitored alarm business, Dennis is celebrating his 64th year in the industry. During this time, he has started or bought, owned, and eventually sold 31 different alarm companies representing tens of thousands of accounts in 17 states. The originator of many of the most successful sales methods and sales training systems used over the years, Dennis has mentored several of the industry’s current leaders. He has received dozens of awards for his contributions to the profession, including SDM Magazine’s Man of the Year. In recent years, he has served as one of the top brokers in the Life Safety business, matching sellers who have built quality companies with buyers committed to continuing their legacy.

Co-author of the book, “Alarming Success!”, and Founder of the Life Safety Association and Life Safety USA, Dennis Riley is continuing to offer his wisdom to a new generation of Life Safety entrepreneurs.

Having learned how to sell alarm systems from Dennis Riley, Garvin co-founded Care Club Security Systems in 1993, one of the first nation-wide direct sales alarm companies. Within a year, it was placing thousands of wireless, two-way voice verified alarm systems every month, rapidly becoming one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry and quickly outpacing its suppliers’ capacity to meet their demand. When backlogs forced Care Club’s closure, Garvin joined the leading consulting company in the direct sales industry and, over twenty-five years as an entrepreneurial consultant, he helped launch more than 300 companies representing nearly 20 billion dollars in annual sales.
